Nothing But Love... (III)

In honor of today's release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, my next celebrity crush is Emma Watson. She is a incredible beauty. I love her new pixie cut. It is so grown up and so not Hermione Granger. I think her appeal to me is the amazing transformation she's gone through since her first Harry Potter movie. She has gone from a cute little girl to a gorgeous young woman.

so, how about you- would you cut your hair into a pixie cut? i did when i was about 14. i liked it then, but not sure i'd be willing to take the plunge again.

My mom and sister share a birthday today. Happy Birthday to you both!


I am so grateful for my mom and sister. My mom is my closest friend. We talk almost daily. She listens patiently. She offers advice. I am so excited for her to be here in 3 days to help me as I become a mom for the first time. She is the perfect example for me to follow.

I am also very grateful for my sister. She is very special to me. She is lots of fun. She not afraid to be herself. She is also not afraid to make her own path from time to time. We share a love of Harry Potter, Dave Matthews Band and beach days. Even from afar, I know she'll be a great aunt :)

So, again, Happy Birthday to two of my favorite ladies. Wondering if maybe there will be a third family member to share your birthday with :)

Tanglewood and James Taylor!

Sunday we headed out to Tanglewood for our first experience there. Man, was it an experience. I have never been to such a chill concert. We arrived a couple hours early, set up a prime spot and picnic-ed in the hot sun. We had a simple picnic of sandwiches, potato salad and chips. But, boy, Tanglewood picnic-ers don't mess around. Bottles of wine flowed, brie, crackers and all sorts of fancy pasta & veggie salads abounded. We will certainly have to bring our a-game next year :)

While we waited for the show to start, Chris had a lot of fun setting up blockades for fellow lawn seaters. Poor people just trying to get to the bathroom were constantly thwarted by my hubby.

The concert started with John Williams (!!!) conducting Harry Potter songs and Star Wars songs. So amazing.

After a brief intermission James Taylor came on and played a fantasti set including, Carolina on my Mind, Shower the People You Love with Love, Fire and Rain, Copperline and many others. He left for his encore came back and then announced that because some people were stuck in traffic he was going to play longer to make up for the songs they missed. Such a treat.

Tanglewood is a trip I now want to make every summer. If you've never been and are in the area, its a MUST.

Summer Reading

I love to read. During the school year I find it hard to muster up the energy to read very much. I mostly fall asleep the second my head hits the pillow. During the summer, however, I become a reading machine. I don't necessarily read classics or anything to terribly intellectually challenging, but instead enjoy getting lost in a easy to read story. So, I thought I'd share my list with you, in case you are looking for a last-minute beach/going-tobed read.

1-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling(re-read after seeing the 6th movie; soooo good; had forgotten most of the story since i power-read it when it was first released)

2-Vision in White by Nora Roberts (first in a series of novels about a wedding planning business; super cute)

3- To Have and To Hold by Jane Green (easy read, somewhat sad seeing that it is based on a cheating husband)

4-Love, Rosie by Cecilia Aherns (suggested here; really sweet story about childhood friends-boy & girl- and their lives as adults)

5- PS. I love you... by Cecilia Aherns (might've seen the movie; again, easy read; emotional)

6- Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah (not quite finished with this one; story of middle school friends and their 30 year friendship)

7-My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult (amazing read; incredibly emotional)

8- Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger (like her other novels, not terribly deep at all but still an entertaining story about friends and lovers)

9- Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Nifenegger (thought-provoking, very emotional, probably my favorite read of the summer)

I've been a bad blogger lately, so I'm sorry, but I can't promise you things will be any better for about a week. The hubs and I are headed to Martha's Vineyard for a week long vacation. I am sooo looking forward to getting away. The hubs deserves a major break- he just got a new job/big promotion (!!!!) and the whole process was stress-inducing. And while I have been pure and simply a bump on a log this summer, I'm grateful for the chance to get away from it all and have quality time with my man. So, ta ta for now! I will leave you with some photos from our last Martha's Vineyard vacation.Harry Potter came out over our vacation :)
