I told you earlier in the week that Meredith took her first steps last week. As you can imagine, Meredith didn't succeed on her first try nor has she succeeded every time that she's attempted steps since. In fact, she's only managed to not fall after taking steps once or twice. And yet, she is not deterred.

Unlike my sweet girl, I am quick to give up. Someone doesn't act excited to become friends? I'm done. I have a bad run
But no more. For my sake and for Meredith's, I am going to fight to try harder and not give up so easily. I don't want to be a quitter. And I certainly don't want Meredith to be a quitter. I watch her and hope and pray she holds on to her determined spirit.
My dear Meredith, thank you for trying and trying and trying. Thank you for your "I think I can, I think I can" attitude. You are helping your mama become a stronger, more confident person.

that's so sweet that she's inspiring you! i totally do the whole guilty and awkward from not e-mailing back soon enough, too.
What a wise little one you've raised. Awesome lessons from the tiny tot.
Very sweet lesson from a sweet little one - and I could relate to pretty much everything you said. Sometimes I guess we find inspiration in the smallest packages :)
So beautiful! Love it!
Cutie! I love how you related this. I'm sure it's hard balancing everything as a stay at home mom as well. Since all I have is work, husband, and social time, it's easier to stay dedicated. I totally get you on giving up easily with new friendships though (so over always being the one initiating).
It's not to late to sign up for a half marathon and train with me though ;)
Yay, she's looking good!! Keep going Meredith, you can do it!
Love this!! Friend, you have such a great heart. Thanks so much for sharing and reminding us all!
i love learning lessons from babes!!
YAY Meredith! It's so exciting how determined she is to do it, and I love your appreciation for her efforts. I love how you take the time to learn from her. You are learning from each other every day!
I've noticed this in Emily too, and I am very similar to you... They have so much to teach us.
PS love that last image, her legs so wide apart, keeping her balance. too cute!
