I am woman, hear me roar, part II

I have a habit of taking on projects around the house that really are too much for one person. I get this from my mom. We call her the little engine that could. Or a whippersnapper :) She is a whopping 5'2" and rearranges furniture like Goliath.

So, when I get an idea in my head, it's hard for me to wait until the weekend when I'll have help from my husband. Nope, I'd rather strain my back and get sore abs (??) and do it alone. My idea today was to rearrange our bedroom. Our bed has been against an outside wall of our house. Our house is old and our landlords? CHEAPSKATES. This means that our walls have very poor insulation. Last night, the wall our bed was against was very cold to the touch. We discussed moving the bed and then, that was that. We went to bed.

This morning, I woke up and was feeling like having a lazy day, as mentioned here. But, as I was enjoying my laziness, I thought of the bed issue. And then, I couldn't get it out of my mind. So, I got to work.

At first, I was pumped. I moved our (friggin' heavy) TV. Took out the drawers of my dresser and moved it. Took the (friggin' heavy & friggin' awkward) mattress off the bed. Started moving the bed. Then, the bed got stuck. And my back started to hurt. And Meredith woke up from her nap. And then? I wondered why on earth I was so arrogant to think that I could do this stupid project by myself. So I took a break. I ate approxiatemly one million reese's peanut butter cups and one snickers.

And then, I thought I'd try again. I mananged to "unstuck" the bed. I finally got the bed turned 180 degrees and got it against the wall. And then, I managed to get the TV back on the stand. And that's when I wanted to shout from the rooftops that I am a badass.

Of course now I am sore- my back, my abs, my legs. And am friggin' tired. But man, I rerranged a room full of friggin' heavy furniture. Roarrrrrr!

Yay! You are awesome to take on the feat with little Meredith around! I love the feeling of being accomplished...especially when you put that much effort in!

(And hey, you burned off the one million and one pieces of candy :))

I am in awe of you! I don't even feel like getting out of my comfy bed these days let alone moving it. Congrats to will power!
