morning walks.

as a little family of three, we've started taking morning walks. as a couple and as a threesome, we've enjoyed many walks together, mostly in the evening or on a saturday afternoon. but never in the morning.

we only started last week, but already we feel the changes. not so much physically as emotionally and relationally. we are talking more. we are listening better. we are taking in our surroundings. we are disconnecting from phones and computers for a bit. instead of starting the day off bleary eyed and grumpy, we are getting out the door to fill our lungs with fresh air and it's making all the difference.

do you like walking? if not, give it a try. it's amazing what peace of mind and calm it can bring you.

i am such a morning person and love this idea. i used to run in the morning, which i preferred, until i started at my new job and have to be in at 7 am (!) but every now and then i go in late so i can savor a morning run.

I love taking walks...especially early in the morning or in the early evening. There's nothing else like it, the smells, the sounds. I wish I could go take a walk right now! :)

I love going on walks. My friends and I try and meet up for walks + talks as often as we can. My fiance and I try and go too and explore new nooks of our neighborhood.

morning walks sound great but i can definitely not drag my butt out of bed early enough to do such a thing with my husband! LOL. we are still in the phase of life where hubby says to me when his alarm goes off at 5 AM, "oh the baby didn't get up last night did he?" to which i respond: "um yes, honey, the baby was up at 1,3, and 4, and i just fell asleep when your darn alarm woke me up at 5, thanks!" ;) but we really do enjoy walks at any time other than morning!!!! :)

what a wonderful idea...though unfortunately i am not much of a morning person (and that is the understatement of the year) so I am afraid that bleary eyed grumpiness is part and parcel of my nature :( perhaps i shall give morning walks a try, though. you never know, right?
